This inaugural SCENTSOURCE Seminar is designed for professionals seeking a deeper understanding of how and why detection training works, and how to apply that understanding to develop reliable, high-performing detection dogs across all disciplines.

Co-taught by Jason Purgason and Dr. David Adebimpe, the seminar bridges the gap between scientific principles and practical application. Participants will explore the foundational science that drives detection behavior while learning clear, usable training strategies that can be implemented immediately in real-world training environments.

Rather than relying on tradition or isolated techniques, this seminar focuses on building systematic, evidence-informed approaches to detection training. Topics include learning and performance, odor-related concepts, decision-making in training design, and strategies for improving clarity, consistency, and reliability in detection work.
